Clutch buttons can be divided into two groups. They are mostly used in sports cars in order to transfer a high torque. A clutch is able to transfer very high torque, and is often used in vehicles that have 500 - 600 hp and more, and in such applications buttons perform very well. They are also perfect for vehicles, which are exposed to being buried (e.g. in 4x4 rallies). Since the sintered buttons itself is made using a temperature of 1200 degrees Celsius, it will not be damaged in extreme conditions at temperatures of 600-800 degrees and its lifetime is much greater. Buttons are also used in agricultural machinery in conditions under high pressures. Working in the field or forest and frequent use of the clutch under these difficult conditions will destroy the normal lining but thanks to clutch buttons the lifetime of the clutch is much longer. Buttons have the advantage of being very easy to replace, so that the disc can be replaced without having to visit a specialist workshop. The only condition is to have a strong riveting machine, because sintered buttons use semi-solid steel rivets, which require a lot of pressure.
For sports applications, we have Miba segments, which are manufactured in Austria. This type of cermet is used for cars competing in rallies. It is a renowned brand, very well known in sports circles.
